After a rough start in the KeSPA Cup 2025, Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok and the rest of the T1 squad are back in another Grand Final to cap of their stellar 2025 campaign. Doubts were surrounding the squad after they dropped to the Lower Bracket and releasing Finals MVP Lee ‘Gumayusi’ Min-hyung late last November. The young replacement in Kim ‘Peyz’ Su-hwan has yet to live up to expectations as they take on Hanhwa Life, which now banners Gumayusi, for the trophy and the 60 million Korean Won prize.

Gumayusi and company drew first blood against T1 at the KeSPA Cup 2025, sending them to the Lower Bracket. Syeo ‘Kanavi’ Jin-hyeok was the star of the show in their match-up. With the two squads now taking each other on again in a rubber match, this match is set to be a memorable banger to end the year.

T1 have a distinctly different playstyle with Peyz versus when they had Gumayusi in their Worlds 2025 run. The team funnels more resources into Peyz early game expecting him to be a force by mid game and it has so far worked out for them. With Peyz, a more mechanically gifted and younger player, the gambit has paid off. Peyz was also key in the team’s comeback win against Dplus in the Lower Brackets.

Hanhwa Life to assert themselves as a Korean powerhouse with the addition of Gumayusi and Kanavi, both in roles that the team previously were considered weak in. Hanhwa Life also parade another T1 star in Choi ‘Zeus’ Woo-je. On paper the current, Hanhwa Life Esports have alot more experience that T1 so this match is really expected to go the whole five games.
