Team Liquid PH’s dominance was on full display against Aurora as they secured the MPL PH 16 crown. Aurora was completely blindsided by a full 4-0 sweep by the boys in blue, with the latter successfully solidifying their slot at the upcoming M7 World Championships in Jakarta, Indonesia, in January 2026.

The Team Liquid PH boys were all smiles as they added yet another trophy to their already dazzling accolades. In their post-game interview, first-time Finals MVP Jaypee Gonzales de la Cruz shared how he was feeling after the team’s monumental win.

“Sobrang saya ko. Ayun lang.” (I was so happy. That’s all.)

The Finals MVP was soft-spoken about his elation, but his moves in the Land of Dawn proved he deserves it, with consistency and poses shown from Day 1 of the MPL PH Playoffs through the Grand Finals.

On the brink of a historic win

Team Liquid PH is on the cusp of becoming the first team to possibly win an M-Series World Championship the same season after winning MSC 2025 and this edition of the MPL PH 16. They were asked what their thoughts are on the possibility of this historic achievement.

Team Liquid PH manager Mitch Liwanag adds: “Siguro para saamin gusto namin since honor naman talaga un title na un. Pero sabi nga namin ng boys ay one step at a time. Focus muna kami sa training and darating rin kami doon. “

(For us, it’s obviously going to be an honor to win that title. But the boys and us always say it’s one step a time. We’ll focus on training first, and we’ll get there.)

When asked what food they ate for breakfast for Team Liquid PH to play this fiercely, Coach Rodel ‘Ar Sy’ Cruz even joked, saying they did not have anything to eat. Gold laner Kiel ‘Oheb’ Soriano then followed up with, ‘Para kaming mga gagamba. Pag ginugutom mas tumatapang.’

(We’re like spiders; when we get hungrier, we get fiercer.)

For Team Liquid PH superstar Karl ‘KarlTzy’ Nepomuceno, this win was an honor, especially with the looming SEA Games in Thailand in December.

‘Napakahalaga naman talaga na opportunity kasi SEA Games yan and di ko naman ineexpect na magagawa ko ulit to para sa Pilipinas.

(This is an important opportunity because it’s the SEA Games, and I didn’t expect to be able to do it again for the Philippines.)

Team Liquid PH will be joined by Aurora to represent the Philippines at the upcoming M7 World Championships.
