The Game Awards 2025 is finally done and dusted with French developer Sandfall Interactive and surprise hit of the year, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 taking center stage grabbing many of the night’s awards. Jennifer English, known for her breakout role as Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 2023, is once again a star among stars in her performance as Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. She won against fellow cast members Ben Starr, Charlie Cox, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Troy Baker.

Apart from Best Performance for Jennifer English, the indie game took home Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Debut Indie Game, Best RPG, Best Independent Game, and Best Score and Music. The game deserves all the accolades and awards because it is truly a masterpiece that no one saw coming.

The Game Awards also featured some epic announcements for gamers everywhere. A new Star Wars: The Old Republic game featuring the director of the Knights of the Old Republic and the Mass Effect trilogy was announced. A multitude of other games was also announced in Mega Man, Tomb Raider, Total War: Warhammer 40k, Resident Evil, and Larian Studio’s latest Divinity game which they promise to be bigger than Baldur’s Gate 3.

Philippine favorite Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was nominated as Esports Game of the Year but was bested by Valve’s Counter-Strike 2. Another homegrown bet in Team Liquid PH was also nominated for Esports Team of the Year but it lost out to globally acclaimed Counter-Strike 2 squad, Team Vitality.
