Grand Theft Auto VI, one of the most anticipated games of the decade, was delayed again, as announced by North American developer Rockstar Games.
This is the third time the game has been delayed since it was first expected to be released in 2025. The game was then delayed to May 26, 2026. Fans are hoping this is the last and final delay for the monumentally anticipated game. With GTA VI, now set to release on November 19, 2026, it will now be more than an additional year of waiting as of writing.

The latest installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is expected to be the most ambitious open-world game ever made. Starring lovers Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval, who are teeming with Bonnie and Clyde energy, in their rags-to-riches story in the entire playable state of Leonida (inspired by Florida). This is the first time in GTA where the player will take control of a female protagonist in Lucia.
Leonida is the biggest Rockstar map ever made, with players returning to Vice City (first seen in the 2002 game GTA: Vice City), this time including the surrounding swamps, islands, and even a national park. The map is expected to be around two or three times bigger than GTA V’s San Andreas. Vice City, based on Miami, returns with unprecedented detail. Players can now enter buildings, and cars will be more detailed in terms of handling and design.
GTA VI will be a satirical depiction of American culture in the 2020s, and the game is also expected to make social media a big part of the experience, with recent trailers showing characters making what appear to be TikTok videos.
Grand Theft Auto VI is currently announced for the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S. No PC version of the game has been announced as of yet.
